Gabriella Elisabeth Eugenie Hofman MacConaghy, passed away on May 29, 2023, in West Jordan, Utah, at the age of 73. Gabby was born on August 13, 1949, to Karl and Margaretha Hofman in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Gabby married Robert "Bucky" MacConaghy on December 2, 1972, in Torrance, California, and was later sealed in the Jordan River Temple on December 27, 1990, for Time and All Eternity.
Gabby was very active in her early years and enjoyed auto-Xing, camping, skiing, and boating. She was a long-time resident of Taylorsville, Utah, and cherished the many friendships she made over the years and welcomed any opportunity to visit and lunch with friends. Gabby had a talent for needlepoint, crafting, card making, and especially sewing. She made beautiful, intricate clothing and costumes for her children. She was also a collector of many things but cherished her Hallmark ornament collection and had a small tree for every season.
Gabby looked for any reason to celebrate, and she loved sending cards to friends and family for nearly every holiday and event, such as birthdays and anniversaries. She enjoyed decorating for each season and had some of the most beautiful and elaborate displays. She won numerous Halloween door decorating contests while working as a Fingerprint Technician for the State of Utah at BCI.
Christmas was her favorite time of year. She had an abundance of Christmas decorations, a Hallmark ornament catalog in hand by the first of July, and placed her orders as early as possible. Gabby knew exactly what ornament series her loved ones appreciated, from penguins to unicorns and butterflies, and gifted ornaments to each of them every year.
Gabby loved her family deeply, especially her three granddaughters, and took every opportunity to dote on them. She always carried a bottomless bag full of new and exciting adventures, crafts, art supplies, and tokens of love.
Gabby is survived by her husband Robert "Bucky," daughter Kelly (Joe) Hyzer, son Kenny (Stacy) MacConaghy, brother Bernd (Kay) Hofman, and her three granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Margaretha, and younger brother Mathias Hofman.
