Frank Ouimette Sr.

Frank Walter Ouimette was born in Haverhill, Essex County, Massachusetts on November 22, 1945. He is the biological son of Helen (Macleod) Cook and Frank Everett Cook. Frank was raised by his maternal grandparents (Walter Macleod and Laura Simoneau) whom he lovingly called Dada and Mama until he was 14 or 15 years old and was then adopted by his maternal Aunt Agnes and her husband Robert Ouimette.

Frank attended schools in Haverhill but dropped out in his sophomore year and later earned his GED in the Army. He traveled to faraway places which included Japan, Korea, and Hawaii and then locally to California, Oklahoma, Florida and Massachusetts.

Frank attended art school in MA and was quite an artist himself.

Frank worked as a clerk for ten years in the army and in janitorial services for the VA hospital. Frank also worked as a security guard and finally as a bus driver for UTA.

Frank attended BYU and received two diplomas, one in Transportation and one in communications.

Frank married Sun Cha Pak in Korea and they are the parents of Susan Ann and Frank Walter Jr. They were divorced and Frank and Junior moved to the states while Susan and her mother stayed in Hawaii.

Frank met and married Margaret Mason and they had two children, Helen Laura and Abigail Rose. They were divorced and Frank remarried a few years later to Patience Poteet. He adopted her 5 children Samuel, Matthew, Don, Norah, and Katie. Together they had one more child, John Peter. Patience and Frank raised these 5 children along with his children Frank, Jr., Helen, and Abigail. Frank divorced and several years later met Sharon Lee Marsh and they were married in the San Antonio Texas Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on November 17, 2007. Frank is the stepfather to Jared Michael Garcia (deceased), Jason Matthew Garcia and James Martin Garcia (Andrea).

He is survived by his wife Sharon Ouimette and his ten children, Samuel (Karen) Ouimette, Don (Rosie) Ouimette, Susan (Eric) Nakasone, Matthew Ouimette, Frank Jr. (Tania) Ouimette, Norah (Angela) Beech, Kate (Dusty) Heath, Helen Olsen, Abigail (Billy) Townsend, John (Maghan) Ouimette, 33 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and siblings, Donna Mitchell, Diane Melendez, Debra Kuian, and David Cook.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Ouimette Sr. and Agnes Macleod Ouimette, sister Dorothea Bucknam, brother Robert Ouimette Jr., ex son-in-law Brian Olsen, daughter-in-law Charlene Ouimette, and stepson Jared Michael Garcia.

Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Saturday, January 14, at the Sunset Ridge 10th Ward, 8107 S 6700 W, West Jordan, Utah.
