Listen to Obituary

Eileen Stansfield Barwick Davis, born on September 12, 1933, in Ogden, Utah, passed away on March 21, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion to family. She was the cherished daughter of James Henry Barwick and Alice Stansfield and was the fifth of six children in a close-knit family.

Eileen grew up surrounded by the values of hard work, resilience, and deep familial bonds - principles that guided her throughout her life. As one of six siblings, she learned early the importance of compassion, faith, cooperation, and loyalty, traits she carried into adulthood and shared generously with all who knew her.

Her life was marked by quiet strength, enduring kindness, and a deep commitment to those she loved. Whether through her words, her actions, or simply her presence, Eileen had a way of making others feel cared for and understood. She will be remembered for her grace, her warmth, and the steady love she extended to her family and friends.

Eileen's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and her legacy will continue through the generations she helped shape.

Eileen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David M. Davis, and her daughter, Dawn L Davis Galloway. She is survived by her loving children: Dave B. Davis, Rodney J. Davis, Bonnie A Davis Skokos, and Grant M. Davis, as well as 17 cherished grandchildren who were a joy in her life.

Throughout her life, Eileen held various clerical positions, including serving as secretary to the Insurance Commissioner for the State of Utah and retained a long-lasting friendship with her co-workers. She was known for her dedication, reliability, and warm presence in every role she held.

Eileen had a deep and abiding love for music. She performed with the Utah Symphony Chorale and participated in many church choirs over the years. A self-taught guitarist, she found her greatest joy in singing around the campfire in the mountains with family and friends, her guitar in hand. Those moments created lasting memories that will be treasured by all who shared them.

She was also an avid gardener, with a special love for her roses-each one known to her by name and carefully tended. Eileen had a warm personality, and a fun sense of humor. She cherished time spent with family, friends, and neighbors, and enjoyed gathering with her book club ladies and attending Taco Tuesdays with her lady friends.
