Richard Nealson, caring husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at home on December 5, 2023. He was born in Ogden, Utah to Earl and Edna Nealson. He served in the United States Marine Reserves, attended Weber State College, and enjoyed literature, theater, and photography. Richard served an LDS mission to Paris, France from 1958-1961. He graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor's degree in 1964. He taught secondary English for 34 years, 32 years at Kearns High School.

On June 3, 1971, Richard married Mona Karlsson in Salt Lake City, Utah. Together, they had 2 daughters whom they taught the values of education, prudence, and self-reliance. Richard was a patient listener, naturally good with children, had a good sense of humor, and lived a life of thoughtful contentment.

Richard is survived by two daughters: Elizabeth (Steve) Pearson, and Christina (Aaron) Hackett; six grandchildren: Melanie, Luke, and Ella Pearson; Bennett, Quinn, and Kipland Hackett. Preceded in death by his wife, Mona Karlsson Nealson, and his siblings: Patricia Nealson Schiffman, Kay Nealson Fehr, and Carl Allen Nealson.

A Graveside Service will be held Monday, December 11, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. at Valley View Memorial Park. 4335 W. 4100 S. West Valley, Utah.
