Douglas Dean Holt

The world has lost a great man, a legend, in the passing of Doug Holt. He was united with his loved ones, who have gone before him, after a sudden Cardiac Event. Doug was big in stature, drive, and commitment to family and friends. He was the ultimate example of success in his many decades as VP/GM of Spalding, Nike Golf and TaylorMade Golf. He mentored many, he encouraged and counseled all who worked with him. He was known as the Godfather of Golf and in that, he was a Legend. Doug Loved the outdoors and his beloved mountains. He loved hunting with his dear friends and sons. He is survived by his devoted and beloved wife of 12 years Cheryl Lewis-Holt; and their combined children: Ryan D. Holt (Kristi), Trisha Wayman (Mike); and seven grandchildren, Lanie, Shae, Ryder, Anzlee, Sayge, Riggs, and Paisley Nora. He was certainly met on the other side by his son Gary Chad Holt; his mother Mary Dean Gilbert; and his brother Jack Holt. Doug will be missed and remembered by all who had the great privilege of knowing him. We would invite those whose lives were enriched by their association with Doug to a Memorial Service in his honor at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 So. Redwood Rd., SLC UT. Viewing Friday August 10th, 6-8:00 pm; Memorial Service Sat. August 11th, 11:00 am (9:30 am the family will receive mourners prior to service).
