Dorothy Hill

November 26, 1930 — January 27, 2024

Dorothy Ruth Wagoner Hill, 93, peacefully returned home on January 27, 2024, in Murray, Utah, due to complications from cancer.

Dorothy was born November 26, 1930, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Quincey Argus Wagoner and Lydia Pearl Rainsdon. She was not only the youngest of five children, she was the only girl.

She graduated from Idaho Falls High School and then attended Albion State Normal for a short time. She started dating her husband, Wayne Hill, in high school, and they were engaged shortly after she returned home from Albion State Normal. They were married on June 3, 1949, and later sealed in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple on March 17, 1955.

She loved her family and all of those around her. She was concerned about and cared for everyone she met.

She had many talents, but one of her best was baking. She loved baking things and sharing what she made with everyone that she could. She will always be remembered for her orange sweet rolls.

She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a strong testimony of the gospel and her Savior. She had many callings during her life and was always willing to serve in any way she could. She loved serving in the Church, but she especially loved the time she spent serving in the Salt Lake Temple as an ordinance worker and later in the baptistry.

She is survived by four children: Brent (Sharon) Hill, Lanette (Jon) Johnson, Ruth (Eric) McPherson and Treena (Aaron) Davis; 18 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren with another one on the way.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; son, Dennis; parents; and brothers, Roy, Dwain, Kenneth and Dale.

The family wishes to express gratitude to Tender Care Hospice for their loving care and concern for Dorothy and our family.
