Diane Tyler

August 6, 1938 — January 5, 2023

Diane Weaver Tyler, age 84, was called to Heaven on Thursday January 5th, 2023, from a short battle with pneumonia. She passed away peacefully into the arms of her Savior, with family by her side.

Diane was born August 6th, 1938, to Wayne Bald Weaver and Elva Leone Fullmer in Preston, Idaho where they lived for a few years until moving to Provo, Utah after her brother Dennis was born. She started Elementary School at Washington Elementary in Salt Lake City and moved quite a bit throughout her childhood.

Diane met and was smitten by Archie Tyler and later married him on June 19th, 1954, at the tender age of 15 and later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple August 1st, 1966. They made their home in Granger/West Valley City, Utah where they raised their beautiful family.

Diane was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings including Den Mother of the Boy Scouts. While in the Scouting program she lovingly helped her five boys receive their Eagle Scout award.

She worked in the food service industry throughout her life including the Deseret Gym and Church Office Building where she was known for her incredible omelets. She involved herself in every aspect of her children's lives and participated in PTA. She loved music and singing so much that she joined a women's musical group known as the Shubert Singers. She yearned to join the Mormon Tabernacle Choir but knew it would take away too much time from the things she loved the most, her family.

Some of Diane's favorite hobbies included Genealogy, crafts, crocheting and quilting. She loved boating in her younger years and always loved the great outdoors where she could go camping and fishing. But the thing she enjoyed the most about the outdoors was having family together whenever possible.

All Diane ever wanted was to be a mother. Her family meant more to her than anything else in the world.

She is survived by her brother Dennis Weaver and children Kathy Lynn Atwood (Robert), Richard Dean (Cathy), David Wayne (Jody), Terry John, Dan Weaver (Taren), Lynda Marie Morrill (Scott) and Larry Michael; 21 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Archie, son Mark and two grandsons, Jeremy and Anthony.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023, 11:00 - 12:00pm at 3671 S. Oldham St, West Valley City, where viewings will be held Friday, 6-8pm and Saturday, 10-10:45am. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens 1075 E 4800 S Millcreek.
