Delayne Dorothy Adeline Cabrera

Delayne Fernandez Cabrera was born on December 3, 1945, to Phillip J. Fernandez and Helen M. Fernandez (Lopez) in Hanford, California. She passed away on a beautiful summer day at Common Spirit Holy Cross Hospital on August 15, 2026, her mother's birthday. She was surrounded by family that held her and prayed as she took her last breath. She was 80 years old. We are deeply saddened by her loss and take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering from poor health. We will miss her immensely.

Delayne was predeceased by her longtime partner Donald Neilson, her sister Dorothy Fernandez, and her brother Donald Fernandez.

She is survived by her children, Sherry Ann Esperson (Clinton), Barry Michael Cabrera (Sandy), Amy Lynn Medlin (Sean), and Dolly Jones (Dennis), and 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild as well as her beloved siblings Diane Westmark and Dennis Fernandez (Marjean).

A funeral mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church at 4501 West 5215 South, Kearns, Utah Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 11:00 am-12:00 pm with interment directly after at Valley View Memorial Park at 4415 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah.
