David Long

David Charles Long passed away surrounded by his loved ones on April 1, 2025. He was 72 years old. David was born on November 27, 1952, in Baird, Texas, to Greta and Charles Long, with his 3 siblings: Theda, Linda, and Mischell.

David met his wife Susie at her home when he was working as an electrician at the apartments next door. The two were later married on July 7, 1972, in Murry, Utah and then later sealed to each other in the Salt Lake City Temple.

David and Susie traveled to multiple places until they settled in Green River, Wyoming. This is where their family journey began and then they moved to Upland, California to continue their family's growth. They had 8 children: David Jr., Douglas, Sue Anne, Stacy, Dustin, Stephanie, Dwayne, and Samantha followed with 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren who he loved dearly.

He took a lot of pride in his work as an inside wireman; he spent 50+ years in the trade and enjoyed teaching and working side by side with his sons. Even long into his retirement, he would spend hours every week talking about all of the different work situations and the many obstacles they overcame.

David enjoyed all things outdoors, including fishing, hunting, scuba diving, and was always open to new experiences and adventures. He loved spending time with his family, such as sitting around a campfire telling stories and jokes, and he was always the first one to arrive at his grandson's baseball games. He was definitely their #1 fan. One of David's final requests before his passing was for his family to come and watch a movie; his family was everything to him. He was loved dearly and will be deeply missed, but will forever remain in our hearts.
