Darwin Blackburn Que Darwin Que Blackburn, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and brother passed away, surrounded by his family, October 31, 2011. He had many health trials and has been such an example of strength to all. Born May 14, 1933 in Clawson, Utah to Wayne and Melba Jane Prows Blackburn. He married Barbara Mae Tyner March 22, 1956 in Hayward, California; later solemnized in the Los Angeles Temple. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, 1951-1953. Que was such a joy and full of fun. A tease! An example of good to everyone who knew him. A hard worker and giving. Worked at General Foods in California. In Utah he worked twenty years at Kennecott as an electrician, and ten years at Hill Air Force Base where he retired. Always devoted and protective of his family and taught his children true values of success. He served in many capacities in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, mostly with children and teens in the early years; later with Elders, High Priest, High Council, Regional Rep for the older singles with his wife. His special calling was as a Home Teacher. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; children: Dana (Gary), Duane (DeAnn), David (Jennifer), Darlann (Ray) and Danelle (Boyd); 20 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren who are a true legacy he leaves to follow him. Also surviving are brothers; Clarence (Blanche), Harold (Edythe; deceased), Merlin (Geri) and Blaine (Merlena). Preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Maxine and Eldean; brothers, Leonard and Grant. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 4, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at the Western Hills 1st Ward, 5380 West 5400 South, Kearns, UT. Viewings will be held Thursday, November 3, 2011, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, UT and Friday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
