Dale Garner Carrington Sr., 63, passed away at his home in Kearns, Utah on July 5, 2026. Born in Millington, Tennessee, Dale lived a life filled with creativity, curiosity, unwavering faith, and a deep love for his family.
To know Dale was to know a man whose imagination never stopped working. Rarely was he without a pencil in hand or a sketchbook nearby. He had an incredible gift for sketch art, bringing ideas to life with every line he drew. Creating wasn't simply a hobby; it was part of who he was.
Whether he was filling a sketchbook with new ideas, getting lost in the pages of a comic book, or revisiting a favorite galaxy far, far away, or boldly going where no one had gone before through Star Wars and Star Trek, Dale found joy in stories that sparked the imagination. He loved to read, cherished science fiction, and treasured the time he spent with his family above all else.
Dale was also a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a convert to the faith, he loved Jesus Christ, and his testimony brought him strength and purpose throughout his life.
Those closest to Dale will always remember his playful spirit. His familiar greeting, "Goober says hey," never failed to bring a smile to the faces of family and friends. It was a simple phrase, but it perfectly captured his warmth, humor, and ability to brighten someone's day.
Dale leaves behind a legacy of creativity, faith, laughter, and love. His artwork, his stories, and the countless memories he created with those around him will continue to inspire everyone fortunate enough to have known him. Though his pencil has been laid down, the lines he drew, both on paper and in the lives of those he loved, will never fade.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Edwin Carrington and Barbara Garner Carrington, and his brother, Donny Carrington.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Andrea Woodall Carrington; his son, Dale G. Carrington Jr. ("DJ") and his wife, Allison Kaye; his son, Benjamin William Carrington and his wife, Tiffany; his daughter, Allison Marie Carrington; his cherished grandchildren, Zander, Tage, and Claire; and his siblings, Tracey Carrington Beasley and Edwin Carrington.
