Curtis DeLeeuw

July 27, 1955 — April 29, 2025

Curtis Kay DeLeeuw passed away at home on April 29, 2025, at the age of 69. Curtis was born July 27,1955, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Byron and Pauline DeLeeuw. He attended Kearns High School, graduating in 1973. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 3 and the IAM Local 658 unions during his time as a mechanic working at the likes of Lathum Brothers, Matlack, and finally retiring from Geneva Rock.

Curt enjoyed spending time outdoors with his family, hunting, fishing, and camping. He would never tell you he was the greatest of fishermen; however, he did manage to catch a fish on a bare hook! Curt was definitely the fun uncle, spending countless hours during the deer hunt riding around the mountain in his '78 Ford with his nephews. Curt also enjoyed spending time in his garden and sharing his vegetable starts with his family.

Curt spent a lot of time trapshooting over the years with his parents and brother-in-law, winning many belt buckles and trophies. He was a member of Magna Gun Club and ATA, participating in many shoots over the years at gun clubs across the state.

Curt was an avid racing fan, spending hours keeping up with stats on his favorite drivers. If there was a car show Curt could get to, that is where you could often find him enjoying a summer day.

Curtis is survived by his parents, Byron and Pauline, sister Sherrie and brother-in-law Hank, nephew Randy and wife Breanne, nephew Jake and wife Heidi, great-nieces Chloe and Chyla and great-nephews Cole and Alex.
