Crae LeVoy Memmott (age 95) loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great - great-grandfather, brother, and friend, returned to his Father in Heaven on Tuesday, June 10, 2026, in South Jordan, Utah.
Crae was born September 16, 1930, in Scipio, Utah to Joseph LeVoy and Ella Peterson Memmott. He was the third of five children. He was raised in Scipio where he learned to work hard on the family farm and the importance of family. His early schooling took place in Scipio and he graduated from Millard High School in 1949. Crae participated in the Future Farmers of America where he won Region and State Livestock Judging and later placed in the Nationals held in Kansas City.
After high school graduation, Crae joined the U.S. Air Force, where he served for eight years. Once he completed Aircraft Maintenance School, he was stationed in Langley, Virginia with the 4424th Air Sea Rescue Squadron as a helicopter mechanic and flight crew member. Crae was featured on the cover of Life Magazine and received a medal of honor for rescuing 29 people during a flood in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He had the opportunity to accompany many Air Force dignitaries during his 8 years of service and shared many stories about his adventures with his good friend Captain Jackson.
Crae met the love of his life, Joann, at the NCO club while stationed on the Middletown Airbase in Pennsylvania. They married September 15, 1956, in Scipio, Utah and were later sealed in the Manti, Utah temple on November 16, 1957.

Crae and Joann raised their five children: Craelene, Shauna, Joel, Steve, and Karla in Kearns, Utah. Crae was very mechanically inclined and could take anything apart and fix it or make it better. He loved to spend time on the family farm in Scipio with his family and he was an avid hunter and fisherman. Crae always put family first and loved being together with everyone. He always had time to share a story or two with his grandchildren.
Crae was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Some of the callings that were special to him were serving as Bishop of the Kearns 14th Ward, Stake Missionary, Young Men's President, High Councilor, and Scout Master.
