Claudia Rae Wenzel Ferguson

Claudia Rae Wenzel Ferguson, age 78, of Montgomery, Texas passed away February 21, 2021 after a long and valiant battle with cancer.

Claudia was born on September 18, 1942 in Evanston, Wyoming to Isabella Sessions and Samuel Edwin Wenzel. She was a graduate of the Fruitland High School in Idaho and the LDS Business College in Utah. As a young adult, she served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Bavarian/Berlin Missions in Germany. She married Kent Irvine Ferguson on August 25, 1967 in the Salt Lake Temple.

She is survived by her husband Kent; and their three children, Susan, Kristin, Andrew (Jackie); two grandchildren, Scarlette and Lucas; and sister Esther (Chuck) Costarella.

Claudia was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at the Bennion Utah Stake Center, 6250 South 2200 West, Taylorsville, Utah. A closed casket gathering will be held that morning from 10:00 – 11:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens. Please follow COVID-19 guidelines if attending.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Claudia to the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah or to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home of Taylorsville, Utah.
