Catherine "Kate" Sinclair (Murphy) Wolsey, aged 83, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born on April 29, 1943, in the charming town of Peebles, Scotland, Catherine's life was a remarkable journey that spanned continents and touched the hearts of many.
She was preceded in death by her parents James and Elizabeth Murphy, Her brother James and sister Jacqueline, and her Son Roger his wife Camille and their son Skyler. She is survived by her children, Peter Jr., Owen, Micah, and Melanie, her nieces Shirley and Pauline, her nephews William and Stephen, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Catherine was raised in Scotland and began her life as a Protestant. However, her spiritual path led her to convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints faith, a decision that profoundly shaped her life and enabled her to immigrate to the United States at a young age. Her faith remained a cornerstone of her identity throughout her life.
A proud naturalized citizen of the United States, Catherine embraced her new homeland with enthusiasm while maintaining a deep love for Scotland. She cherished both her Scottish heritage and the opportunities she found in America, embodying the best of both worlds.
Catherine was known for her strength and unwavering devotion to those she held dear. She loved her family and friends deeply and was always willing to go above and beyond for them. Her generosity of spirit and steadfast loyalty left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
May Catherine's memory serve as a source of comfort and inspiration to those who were fortunate enough to share in her life.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 06:00 PM to 08:00 PM at McDougal Funeral Home 4330 S. Redwood Road. There will be a viewing from 6:00 to 6:45 and the service will start at 7:00.
