Caroline Jean Throckmorton

Caroline Jean Gallucci Throckmorton, born September 24, 1946, and died September 27, 2026.

Sweet Caroline passed away three days after her 80th birthday due to age related health complications. She was born in Portland, Oregon, to Ray and Lois Gallucci, alongside her older sister Dodie.

Her early years were happy times spent with her big Italian family. Caroline and her family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, when she was 13. She graduated from Granite High School in 1964. She was involved in track, drill, volleyball, choir, and student government. Caroline particularly loved horseback riding. She was baptized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when she was19. She met the love of her life, George Throckmorton, at a" Christmas in June" party. Shortly afterwards, on November 22, 1966, they were married in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity.

During her marriage, she lived in Ogden, Utah, Chicago, Illinois, Washington, and ultimately settled in Taylorsville, Utah, where she and her husband lived for 43 years. She often referred to her children as her daughter, Cris, and the four little gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke (the dog) and John. As a family, they went on road trips throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada. Her favorite destination was Disneyland. She enjoyed movies and music of all kinds, in addition to collecting jewelry.

Caroline was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Lois Gallucci; her older sister and brother-in-law, Dolores (Dodie) Williams and Robert (Bob) Williams. She is survived by herhusband, George James Throckmorton; her children, G. Matthew (Marlene), Cris, Mark, andJohn Throckmorton; and her three lovely grandchildren: Bryanna Throckmorton, Kajia and Javis Anderson.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 30th, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at McDougal Funeral Home on 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah. Funeral services will also be held at McDougal Funeral Home on Thursday, October 1st, at 11 am. Burial will follow at 12:30 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 East 10600 South Sandy, Utah.
