Carol Sandberg, 73, passed away on December 16, 2025, in UT.
Carol Sandberg was born on February 23, 1952 in Exeter, NH, to Alvin Hanson and Nancy Allard.
Carol graduated from Reno High School in 1970 and went on to earn some college credit
from The University of Reno in 1971. Carol married Ronald Sandberg on July 17, 1976 in Salt Lake City. The couple had 3 children, Stephanie Clarin, Timothy Sandberg, Christian Sandberg.
She had aspirations to be a clothing designer but worked for the State of Utah Tax Commission before deciding to work with her husband as an insurance agent in his and hers' insurance agency for 46 years.
Memorable moments and achievements:
Married for 49 yrs, she met her husband Ron while working at JCPenny's. He worked in automotive tire and accessory sales and she worked in display, They traveled to San Francisco, enjoyed Big Sur, Zions National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park.
Notable interests, activities, hobbies, or passions: She loved spending time with family and loved ones, including her dog Calvin. She had many interests and hobbies. She enjoyed reading her Bible, Stephen King novels, and factual books on everything from religion to relationships. She climbed Mt. Olympus, attended Woodstock, and loved both the Beatles and Elvis.
She was a fan of good food-Asian cuisine, German dishes, lobster, and recipes brought from the East Coast, where she spent most of her childhood. She liked to cook her favorite spaghetti, as well as countless casseroles and soups, sharing them with family as often as possible. She enjoyed playing board games and card games with her children and grandchildren.
She also loved camping at Redman and the Spruces campgrounds. She liked plants and gardening. She moved around the world during her father's military career, including spending three years in Germany before eventually settling in Salt Lake City.
Carol is survived by Ronald Sandberg, spouse, of Kearns, Nancy Allard, mother, Stephanie Clarin, daughter, Kent Clarin, son-in-law, Dominic Clarin, grandson, Kiarra Clarin, granddaughter, Anthony Clarin, grandson, Timothy Sandberg, son, Dylan Sandberg, grandson, Sloane Sandberg, granddaughter, Christian Sandberg,son, Lydia Sandberg, daughter-in-law, Emma Sandberg, granddaughter, Sarah Sandberg, granddaughter, Ella Sandberg,
granddaughter, Shirley Bryant, aunt, Peter Hanson, brother, Janean Hanson, sister-in-law
Carol is preceded in death by Alvin Hanson, father, Aurthur Bryant, uncle, Ella Sandberg,
mother-in-law, Frank Sandberg, father-in-law.
The service for Mrs. Carol Sandberg will be held on Monday, December 29, 11:00 AM at Christ Lutheran Church (LCMS), 240 East 5600 South, Murray, Utah.
Visitation: Sunday Dec. 28th 6:00 pm- 8:00 at McDougal Funeral Home. 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville UT.
Interment, Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 East Bengal Boulevard (7800 South), Cottonwood Heights, UT.
Memorial donations can be made in Carol's name to Humane Society of Utah.
She will be sorely missed with every passing day. We find comfort in knowing that Carol's legacy lives on through the lessons she taught us, the love she shared and the memories we will cherish forever.
