Carol Laurine Prince

Carol Laurine Prince was born to Francis and Laurine Anderson Prince on July 11, 1936, in Price, Utah. 

The family lived in Helper until they moved to Los Angeles, California, after the start of World War II. Francis worked as a butcher in the Hollywood Safeway. Carol's sister, Janet, was born during this time.

The family lived in Boulder, Nevada, and Cedar City, Utah, until moving home to Carbon County. They settled in the mining community of Hiawatha.Carol attended the Carbon County schools. She was an excellent student. She received a full scholarship to Brigham Young University and moved to campus. She graduated with a degree in microbiology and chemistry. 

Carol became a registered/licensed Medical Technologist. She worked at a lab at LDS Hospital.In 1961, she joined President John Kennedy's new Peace Corp and went to work in hospitals in East Pakistan, now Bangladesh. While there, she traveled to India, Nepal, Kashmir, and Pakistan. 

She returned to Salt Lake City and began to work for 3M and Controlled Data. She worked helping with the installation of their products.

After retirement, she spent time with her parents and sister. She and Janet began their traveling.

Carol began working for Intermountain Therapy Dogs. She worked for over 20 years with one of her beloved Keeshonds, visiting hospitals, schools, and other places. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all her life.

Carol died on Sunday, September 27, 2026. It was a wonderful reunion with her parents and dogs in Heaven. She was 90 years old.At her request, there will be no services. She wil be buried in the Old Price Utah Cemetery, in the Prince family plot.
