Carol Dawn Haslam

Carol Dawn Rueckert Haslam was born August 29, 1931, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Leonard Christopher and Lela Barlow Rueckert. She returned to her Heavenly Father on June 29, 2026, at the age of 94 surrounded by her family at home in West Valley City, Utah.

Carol graduated from West High School. She married William Wilford "Bill" Haslam in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple on October 28, 1949. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings.

Carol was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed playing the violin, sewing clothes for her daughters, gardening, doing pretty punches, reading, and painting paint-by-numbers.

Carol is survived by her four daughters and a daughter-in-law: Janice (Gary) Richards, Gloria (Rex) Hansen, Claudia (George) Edvalson, Susan (Michael) Murano, and Jackie Haslam. Carol leaves a posterity of 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband William Wilford "Bill" Haslam; son William "Bruce" Haslam; and sisters Joyce Johnson, Marjorie Rushworth, and Marilyn Nye.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the exceptional care givers that gave of their time, care, and especially their love for her.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 8, 2026, at the Hunter 1st Ward Chapel, 3665 South 6000 West, West Valley City, Utah. Viewing will be from 10-11:45 am. Funeral services will follow at noon. Interment will be at Valley View Memorial Park, 4445 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah.
