Carlene Reese Jensen

October 26, 1939 — December 28, 2020

On Monday morning December 28, 2020, Carlene passed this life and enjoyed a great reunion with Bill, Scottie, Staci and with many other loved ones.  Her memory, example, love and compassion will be missed by those of us who remain.

Carlene was preceded in death by her husband Bill Reese; son Scottie; daughter Staci. Also preceded in death by husband Willard K. Jensen; and brother-in-Law Jack Marsh.

She is survived by Brenda Hainsworth (Randy), Cindy Young (Corrie), Bryan Reese, Jeanene Winn (Mike), Kristen Eggertz (Danny), Brian Jensen.  Also survived by her family members, Pat, Eugene(Marsha), Joyce(Darell), Katie, Maryann(Kevin)

Carlene married William Dale Reese on July 17, 1956; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.  Bill Passed in 1989.  Later Carlene married Willard K. Jensen on June 25, 1991.

Carlene had many wonderful grandchildren  (12) and great-grandchildren (19). She enjoyed many of the activities of all her children.  She was proud of her title of Grandma and Grandma Great.

Carlene was born on October 26, 1939 in Milford, Utah to Carlyle and Blanche Gronning. She enjoyed the life of growing up in a small southern Utah Town.  Carlene attended Milford High School and was proud to be a cheerleader for her Milford Tigers.  She married her high school sweetheart Bill Reese, after which they started their life’s journey together. They enjoyed many wonderful years together raising their young family from Kemmerer Wyoming to West Valley City, Utah. Carlene spent many years of her life in the service of others in the surgery center at Pioneer Valley Hospital; a job she enjoyed very much.  Bill passed in 1989 after 29 years of marriage.

Carlene married Bill Jensen on June 25, 1991. Affectionately referred to as “Bill 2”, their love and support for one another made them inseparable.  They enjoyed traveling and supporting their combined families in all activities, a favorite being up in Manilla at the “Cabin”, which Carlene had decorated and made a home away from home.

Carlene served for many years with Bill in a special needs ward in West Valley City, Utah. She found much fulfillment in this calling.  Later, Carlene found herself up in the mountains above Heber City, Utah.  She served by Bill’s side as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, as builders of many of the outbuildings as well as helping the young women in the many activities that girls camp had to offer.

After Bill’s passing in 2012, Carlene continued to serve in the Jordan River Temple. She always enjoyed the spirit of the temple in her life.

At this time, a special thank you goes out to her son, and our brother, Bryan, who cared for Carlene these past many years.  This allowed Carlene to be in her home and enjoy the comfort of it.  Carlene was always grateful for your sacrifice in supporting her.  She was always happy to get a Diet Coke on your arrival home from work.

A special thank you to our friends at the Sheridan in South Jordan during Carlene’s short stay in “Memory Care”. Carlene was called to fight the battle with dementia and did it valiantly as she provided love, humor, and support with her friends she had made in the short time there.  She enjoyed the many activities and friendships made there.  Our family is in debt to their service to Carlene these last several months.  Our “window visits” with Carlene will also be missed.

Also, a thank you to Carlene’s brother and sisters for providing support for Carlene in her later years.  Thank you, Eugene, Joyce, Katie, Pat, and Maryann.  Carlene had many close friends who also helped during this time in her life, our gratitude and appreciation goes to them.  Truly our family was blessed by many!

Thank you, Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandmother, sister, and friend, for a life well lived, for an example well made, and for your care for us during your journey on earth with us.  A hole in our heart with your passing, but a basketful of memories to carry as we proceed without you. We Love You!

Graveside services will be held Monday, January 4, 2021, 1:00 p.m. at Milford City Cemetery, 200 South 300 West, Milford, Utah.
