Calvin Rolfe Marchant (1932 - 2026)

Calvin "Cal" Marchant was born June 30, 1932, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Adelbert and Velma Annie Marchant. He passed away on May 8, 2026. Cal was raised in Peoa, Utah.

Cal graduated from the University of Utah with a BS in Music and an MS in Speech Pathology and Audiology. He spent his career serving the community as a Speech Pathologist and Audiologist for the State of Utah Health Department.

Cal was a proud American. He joined the ROTC during college and, following graduation, he served on active duty in Germany and France. Cal later retired from the U.S. Army Reserve with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

A devoted lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cal served faithfully in many callings throughout his life.

Music played a central role in his life. He was an accomplished pianist & practiced every day, even on his final day. Cal played beautifully by ear and shared his talent generously. We will especially miss his rousing rendition of "Pistol Packin' Mama."

Cal was also a dedicated Utah Utes fan and proudly passed that passion on to his children. Go Utes!

He is survived by his children Jeanine Howell (Joe)Darren Marchant (Judy), and granddaughter Jade Britton (Erik). He is also survived by Wynne Anne's children - Kristie Pearson (Troy)Kevin Weight (Shelley), and Kreg Weight (Melissa) - along with several grandchildren.
