Brent Earl Reid, longtime South Salt Lake businessman, was born on June 9, 1948, to Ronald Earl Reid and Hannah Rose Croshaw Reid in Pocatello, Idaho. He passed away in his sleep the morning of August 25, 2025, at home, which is right where he wanted to be. He graduated from Pocatello High School in 1966. Shortly afterward, he met his beloved wife, Patricia Cheney, while she was walking by the Drive-In that he managed. He caught up with her in Rexburg, Idaho where she was attending college, and they married on July 11, 1969 at her parents' home in Rupert, Idaho. Brent and Pati lived in Utah, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington while they were getting established. Brent delivered bottled water for Mount Olympus Water, worked for Fred's Burger Chalet, did satellite dish sales, and worked for an LP record distribution company.
His son Dax was born first, followed three years later by his daughter Taberlee. He adored his exceptional grandchildren, David, Brayden, and Maya. He had a special relationship with his nieces and nephews as well. He enjoyed having photos on his desk and office walls of his family, and he made sure he let them know how proud he was of them. He proudly helped send both of his children to college, and worked hard to help them achieve their goals, teaching them to work hard and humbly serve others.
Brent installed satellite dishes all over the country with Broadcast International until he was injured in 1987 in a workplace accident. After many painful surgeries and a long recovery, he founded a retail store in South Salt Lake in 1995 called All For Love. He proudly operated All For Love for 30 years where he fostered relationships with vendors and developed a successful, trusted business with a large clientele. He was also well respected by the business community at large. He was ambitious, and owned and managed other businesses at the same time, specifically a car detailing company, used car sales, a mortgage company, and a lingerie production company.
Brent loved talking and telling stories, and he was a great storyteller. He was generous, and gave everyone a hand up that he could. He loved cars and car racing, but he didn't just like driving cars, he developed himself as an expert on cars.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ronald Earl Reid and Hannah Rose Croshaw Reid, brother Paul Reid (Berna Dee), sister ReNae Bolson (Frank), sister Sherrie Shearwood (K.C.), and grandson David McGuire. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia Cheney Reid, much loved younger brother Joel Reid (Lindy), children Dax Reid (Heather) and Taberlee Reid (Andrew Ford), and grandchildren Brayden Reid and Maya Reid as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank Joel Reid, long time friend Tom LaBonte, the staff at Aspen Ridge West, and the staff of Right at Home Care for all of their love and support, especially in recent years.
