Beverly Jean Uriarte passed away peacefully in her home in Taylorsville, Utah, on April 19, 2026, at the age of 88.
Beverly was born on January 8, 1938, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Wallace Reed Barrow and Anola Brinkerhoff Barrow. At a young age, she moved to Wyoming, where she lived in several small towns during her childhood, including Lovell.
She married at the age of 14 and welcomed her first child a year later. After divorcing a few years afterward, she returned to Utah and lived with her sister, Marilyn. Beverly later met the love of her life, Angelo Uriarte, at a USO dance held at the old Saltaire Pavilion. They were married on April 15, 1960, and lovingly blended their families. In 1964, they were sealed together as a family in the Salt Lake Temple.
Beverly worked hard throughout her life, holding multiple jobs to help support her family. She had a deep love for working in her yard and especially cherished her garden. She was well known for growing what her son fondly called "the hottest radishes in town."
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Beverly served faithfully in many callings that she dearly loved. She often spoke fondly of the time she and her husband served in the nursery, finding joy in watching the children grow -- many of whom continued to call them Grandma and Grandpa into adulthood. Her love for the Lord was evident in the way she lived her life, always striving to serve Him and those around her. She also found great joy in temple service and attended as often as she could. Together, she and her husband served as service missionaries at the Deseret Industries Sort Center. She was also a proud member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Angelo Uriarte; her brothers, Jerry Barrow and Gary Meeks; her sister, Marilyn Jacobson; her daughter, Patty Edmondson; her daughter-in-law, Marie Uriarte; her sons-in-law, Ron Hansen and Dave Hamby; her great-granddaughter, Heather Lynn Hansen; her great-grandson, Justin Uriarte; her granddaughter, Danielle Porter; and her twin great-granddaughters, Kylie and Kristina Hansen.
She is survived by her children: Mike (Jodie) Uriarte, Vicky Hamby, Terri Hansen, Dave (Zenrah) Uriarte, and Kim Ritter; along with 18 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
