Barbara Hutchinson

September 26, 1941 — November 3, 2023

Barbara Ann Hutchinson, age 82, passed away on November 03, 2023. She was born on September 26, 1941, to Annie Francis Szenasi and Daniel Franklin Trussell in Salt Lake City, Utah. The family then moved to Logan, Utah where her father worked at Utah State University. After graduating from Logan High School, Barbara returned to Salt Lake to attend Westminster College becoming an educator. Over a 41-year career, Barbara taught all elementary grades in both the Salt Lake and Granite School Districts. She had some of the best classroom decorations around. On September 26, 2011, Barbara and Del Hutchinson eloped to Tooele, Utah and together, they created a wonderful life surrounded by their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Barbara loved decorating her home for every holiday, spending time with her family, eating dark chocolate, and expanding her jewelry collection. While Barbara had many wonderful characteristics, she will be remembered for her humor, kindness, determination, love and service to family and others. Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Frank Mendez. She is survived by her husband, Del, daughter, Connie (Cynthia Sanders), grandchildren, Kaja, Maiken, and Lars Albertsen, plus 25 others who knew her as grandmother and 23 as great-grandmother. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 10th, 6:30 PM-7:30 PM at Hunter 17th Ward, 3745 South 6400 West, West Valley, Utah.
