Barbara Carter

September 9, 1952 — April 8, 2023

Barbara Jean Carter-Wiker passed away unexpectedly at her daughter's home on April 8, 2023.

She was born in Streator, Illinois to Irene and Robert Hoenshell on September 9th, 1952.

After several moves throughout her childhood, she and her family settled here in Utah where she met Marty Wiker. They were married July 27, 1973 in the Provo Temple.

She is survived by their 5 children, Jessica (Darren) Boyer, Jenny Hancock, Matt (Stephanie) Wiker, Nick (Lilly) Wiker and Danielle (Jeff) Nielsen and an abundance of beautiful grandchildren. Marty passed away in December of 1999. She remarried in 2002 and is survived by her husband, Ron Carter.

She has battled Parkinson's for the last 6 years and as her death was unexpected it was peaceful. Barbara was one of the kindest women one could meet in their lifetime. She cared deeply for all her children and loved making jams, cookies and sewing.

She was passionate for her photography which as a result, there are thousands of pictures in albums to share with those she loved. She enjoyed sharing her vivid memories with anyone she met and loved talking about her children and grandchildren and their achievements.

She was fond of her Pepsi and snickers bars and passed her sweet tooth to all her children. She will be missed by all who knew her. Her grandkids will miss being read stories and watching a heartwarming movie.

We would love to extend a welcome to join us in a celebration of her life, Thursday ,April 13, from 6 to 8 pm at mcDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. Please come share memories and visit with others who loved her.

Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, April 18th, 2023, 10:00 a.m. at Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 South Redwood Road, Bluffdale, Utah.
