Our father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Arthur Kay Brewer passed away on April 18, 2026, at the age of 91.
Art was born on September 27, 1934, to Earl and Annie Brewer in Moroni, Utah. He was the second of fourteen children and enjoyed his upbringing in the Sanpete Valley. He looked forward to returning to the area with his family every year for the bow hunt.
Art was a Korean War veteran and served his country honorably. He was trained as an engineer in Japan and as a General Supply Specialist. Shortly after he completed his service, he married his sweetheart, Verllain Jensen, in the Salt Lake Temple on November 16, 1956. Art and Verllain made their home in Taylorsville, Utah, where he resided for the rest of his life. He worked as a Lab Technician for EDO Corporation (now L3 Harris) for most of his working years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved attending the temple, especially alongside his wife, and went regularly with a sealing group for many years.
Together Art and Verllain raised six children. Art was very proud of his family and loved witnessing its growth over the years to its current size of 108 members. He loved spending time with his children and their families and attended countless events in support and love of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Art is survived by his six children, Rick (Diana), Terry (Sandy), Connie Davis, Paul, Bobbie Ann (Matt) Dunkley, and Nanette (Mike) Palmer, 22 grandchildren, 17 grandchildren-in-law, and 54 great-grandchildren, with three more on the way, along with his siblings Dorothy, Judy, Grandon, Robert, Tammy, and Brinda. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Verllain, his parents, his grandson, Jacob, great-granddaughter, Gracey, and his siblings John, Deeon, Veeon, Jack, Monta Ray, Lonnie, and Vincent.
A funeral will be held on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 11:00 am, with a viewing preceding the funeral from 9:30 to 10:45 am. The viewing and funeral will take place at the Heritage Park Gardens Ward building of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 4252 South Bennion Road, Taylorsville, Utah. Interment will take place at Valley View Memorial Park.
