Arlen Hale, born July 21, 1951, to Ellis and Lavina Hale, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, surrounded by loving family and dear friends.

Arlen was the youngest of five children. He was preceded in death by his parents; his infant brother Richard; and brother Roger. He is survived by his brothers Charles and Don (Jackie); his sister-in-law Kay, (Roger's wife); his close nephew Matthew and many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Arlen had a generous heart and a deep love for his community. Arlen was a member of the LDS Church and loved taking care of his ward house. For 25 years, he devoted countless hours as a volunteer with the Utah Symphony and Opera, where he found great joy in supporting the arts and formed lasting friendships.

An avid athlete with a lifelong love for staying active, Arlen was passionate about running and biking, and he was known throughout his neighborhood for his disciplined daily walks, often covering nine miles a day. Along his routes, he would stop to visit with neighbors and anyone he met, taking the time to get to know people and brighten their day. His kindness, warm smile, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.

Arlen also loved to travel, especially on Windjammer cruises and trips to Key West, where he embraced adventure, relaxation, and the beauty of the sea.

He will be remembered for his compassionate spirit, his love of people, his dedication to serving others, and the friendships he cultivated throughout his life. His legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Arlen will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.

Arlen's family would like to offer a special thanks to Shirley and Bryan Alfred as well as his hospice nurses, Clint and Jevin, for the extraordinary care they all provided to Arlen in his last days.  We thank you with all our hearts for all you did for Arlen.
