Anna Cornelia Leatherwood
Our dear mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt passed peacefully from her earthly journey on Tuesday December the 9th, 2025. She left a big hole in our hearts, as she was the center of our family.
She was born on June 16, 1939, in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands to Cornelius and Anna Dorenbosch, she was the only girl in the family with 3 brothers. She was born in harsh times in Holland as Holland was just entering World War II. She had recounted many experiences during the war and of how the soldiers would come in their house to make sure they we're not hiding Jews, because they rented a house from a Jewish family. She also liked to tell how, after the war, all they had to eat were potato skins and tulip bulbs mixed. She also had many more amazing stories from that time in her life.
Mom was one of the hardest working people we know and was always making sure her family had everything we needed. Hyland Pharmacy located in Millcreek Utah was her home away from home. She ran the business side of the pharmacy for dad and ran her household with great precision and love. Keeping up the store and our home were always a huge priority in her life. She was a powerhouse with all the hours she dedicated to both.
Anna loved to knit, sew and crochet. Over the years all her grandkids have been recipients of her handy crafts! She was amazing as she never had a pattern to go off but made beautiful sweaters and socks.
She served in many calling in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including many positions in the primary, relief society, and even young women's. She also worked in the temple for many years and loved every minute of her service that she provided in the House of The Lord. She loved the church and the gospel to her dying day and had a strong testimony of it.
Anna was preceded in death by her loving husband William (Bill), her son Timothy, her parents (Cornelis and Anna Dorenbosch) and her brother (John Dorenbosch). She is survived by her Brother's Thijs, and Henk (Judy) Dorenbosch, children Mark, Annalisa, Daniel (Heidi), and Jennifer (Josh) Hardy, her in-laws Carl (Sue), Philip (Kathy), and Tisha Graham. She is also survived by her pride and joy; her grandkids, Correna, Timothy (Jennifer), Chancelor (Graysen) Sondrup, Gates, Bailee, Brayden, Ethan, Colby, Briggs, Rowena, Brooklyn, Nicholas, and Brittany along with her 3 great grandkids Emelia, Noah, and Lincoln.
