Anahis Sarkis Hindoian

Anahis S. Hindoian passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026, in South Jordan, Utah, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Armenian parents Sarkis and Lydia Ksajikian in Aleppo, Syria, on September 26, 1940. Both of her parents were survivors of the Armenian Genocide.

Anahis was truly the life of the party and will always be remembered for her bigger-than-life personality. She had a special way of lighting up a room and making her presence known wherever she went. She loved being around people, visiting with family and friends, laughing, and enjoying life. Her outgoing personality, sense of humor, and unforgettable spirit made her loved by all who knew her.

Anahis was also an incredible Armenian cook, and her cooking was loved by everyone fortunate enough to enjoy it. Preparing traditional Armenian food was one of the ways she shared her heritage and showed her love for family and friends. Her cooking brought people together and created many cherished memories around the family table.

Family was at the center of Anahis's life. She loved her children and grandchildren deeply and was incredibly proud of her family. The time she spent with those she loved brought her great happiness, and the memories of her laughter, stories, personality, cooking, and love will be treasured by her family forever.

She married Moses Abraham Hindoian in 1968 in the Los Angeles Temple. They resided in Los Angeles for 10 years prior to moving back to Utah, where they settled in Kearns for approximately 40 years. They were members of the Copper City 2nd Ward, where they made many lifelong friendships.

Anahis and Moses shared 56 years of marriage before his passing in May 2024. Together they built a life filled with family, faith, friendships, and many wonderful memories. After more than two years apart, there is comfort in knowing that Anahis and Moses are together once again.

Anahis was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Moses Abraham Hindoian; her parents, Sarkis and Lydia Ksajikian; and her sister, Mary Ohannes.

She is survived by her children, Marlene Hindoian and Abraham Hindoian (Roshelle); grandchildren Gabrielle Hindoian, Xavier Brewster, and Kaden Hindoian; as well as extended family and many dear friends who loved her.

Anahis will be deeply missed, but she will never be forgotten. Her bigger-than-life personality, laughter, love for her family, Armenian heritage, wonderful cooking, and unforgettable spirit will live on through all those whose lives she touched.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 10:00-10:45 a.m.

Interment will follow at Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue and N Street, Salt Lake City, Utah.
