"The Music Man"
Alan "Neill" Barton, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, surrounded by love and the sound of his favorite music, with his devoted wife Donna by his side. He was 78 years old.
Born on September 24, 1946, Neill grew up in Utah and graduated from Granger High School in 1964. In 1966, he proudly joined the United States Navy, where he served as a radio operator aboard the USS Canberra during the Vietnam War. His time in the Navy instilled in him a deep sense of duty, discipline, and pride that he carried throughout his life.
After his military service, Neill went on to build a successful career and eventually retired from Moog, where he was known for his dedication and hard work. Upon retirement, he embraced his golden years fully-spending time doing what he loved most: golfing, camping, and enjoying the beauty of everyday life.
Neill was known for his kind heart, quiet strength, and deep love of music-which earned him the nickname "The Music Man." Whether it was classic rock or soft ballads, music was always playing in the background of his life, providing comfort and joy through every chapter.
Above all, he treasured time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought endless light to his life.
Neill was preceded in death by his parents, Sybil and Dale Clays and Bart and Helen Barton
He is survived by his loving wife, Donna, his loving daughters Kerrie, and Kelly, along with all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry his memory forward with love and pride.
One of Neill's favorite songs to sing was "Yellow Submarine" by The Beatles, and he never missed a chance to belt out, "We all live in a yellow submarine." That joyful spirit and sense of playfulness will always be remembered by those who loved him.
