Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, Ada Renée Carter Mangum, age 92, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2026, in Santaquin, Utah.
Renée was born on August 11, 1934, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Griffith Ronald Carter and Blanche Mary Bosanko. She married Dewey Lamont Mangum on September 18, 1952, in the Logan LDS Temple. Together, they were blessed with eight wonderful children.
Renée grew up near Blackfoot, Idaho, and graduated from Snake River High School, where she excelled in English and delighted in being a cheerleader. She was an active member of the Church throughout her life. Renée had a passion for the color purple, and she was happiest when spending holidays and time with her family. She treasured her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as the many memories they shared together. Her feisty spirit, stubbornness, unwavering determination, immense joy, and love for her family will be forever missed.
Renée is survived by her loving children: Naylene Dalton, Kimly (Marsha) Mangum, Gregory (Dennis) Mangum, Alan Mangum, Benjamin (Sheila) Mangum, Jeremy (Judith) Mangum, and Roxanne (Reed) Barlow; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Mangum; 51 grandchildren; 93 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, D'on and Susan; and brothers, David and John.
Renée was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Dewey Mangum; sisters, Victoria and LaRae; brother, Thomas; son, Jeffry Mangum; son-in-law, Steve Dalton; daughter-in-law, Lisa Mangum; grandson, Brodie Mangum; and granddaughter, Lori Renée Dalton.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 8, 2026, at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah, with a viewing at 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Taylorsville City Cemetery.
