Our beloved brother, husband, father, and grandfather, Wayne DeLos Beckstead passed away on January 7, 2018 at the age of 74. Wayne was born on February 28, 1943 in Murray, UT to Agnes Osborne and DeLos Beckstead. He served in the Utah Army National Guard from 1962-68 and then again from 1982-1992 at which time is was honorably discharged. Wayne had a great sense of humor and was a jokester. He loved fishing, gardening, and cooking-he was famous for his gravy. He also loved Denver Broncos football almost as much as he loved his family. He was a great strength to our family and will be sorely missed. Wayne is survived by his wife, Sharon Peterson; children, Stacie Stroud (Michael), Andrea Wild (Mark), Crystal Macomber, Chester Macomber IV, and Shaun Macomber (Ashleigh); siblings, Diana Jensen and Penny Falkner; and nine grandchildren. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents Agnes Osborne and Delos Beckstead; and sister, Dorene Foss. A memorial is scheduled for Saturday, January 13th, 9:00 a.m., at the South Jordan 9th Ward LDS Chapel located at 9750 South 2200 West, South Jordan, UT, where all are welcome to attend and celebrate Wayne's life. A short gathering for family members will be held from 8:30-9:00 a.m. A graveside service with military honors will be held Saturday, January 13th, 11:00 a.m. at the Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park at Camp Williams, 17111 South 1700 West, Bluffdale, UT. We will return to the church for a reception with light refreshments after the graveside service so family and friends can visit.
