Stephanie Kerr Boone

Stephanie Kerr Boone, age 66, passed away on June 21, 2017, at her home in Taylorsville, Utah, from a 15-year battle with interstitial lung disease. She is the wife of Daniel Earl Boone. They shared 42 years of wedded bliss with each other. Steph was born Oct. 27, 1950, in Ft. Collins, Colo., daughter of Carl Kerr and Gloria Bird. In 1969, she graduated from Murray High School and later became a nurse. She worked as a nurse in several places across the country as she supported Dan in his Coast Guard career. On May 7, 1966, she became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served a full-time LDS Mission in South-Central Brazil from 1972-1973. Steph enjoyed drawing, painting, playing piano, reading, and continually serving others. After she got sick, her favorite way to serve was by crocheting and donating hats to those in need. She was devoted to being a great wife and mother and will be remembered by her love of the gospel, love of dogs, love of culture and art, and her sense of humor that lasted until the very end. She is survived by her husband, Dan; and her children, April, Emily (Doug), and Dani (Brian). Viewings will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 26, at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, in Taylorsville, and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., prior to funeral service at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, at the Westbrook Ward, 6364 South 3200 West, in Taylorsville.
