Ronald Charles LaMothe

May 7, 1941 — August 13, 2017

Ronald Charles LaMothe returned to his Heavenly Father on August 13, 2017. He passed away in his home after fighting a battle with Lewy Body Dementia. He was born May 7, 1941 in Pocatello Idaho to Richard and Wanda LaMothe. He married his sweetheart, Ann Aitken on August 6, 1971 in the Salt Lake Temple. He served his country in the Army, and then spent many years as a Custodian for the LDS Church. Ron was a gentle soul, the type of person people and animals were drawn to because of his kind, accepting, and loving nature. Though many would describe him as a quiet person, when he had something to say there was always a great point or humorous outlook to add. His quirky sense of humor surprised those around him; always to their delight. Among Ron's favorite things, being a husband, father, and grandfather were certainly at the top of his list. Additionally, he enjoyed many hours working in his yard, tending to flowers and trees and planning his next project carefully. Ron's passion for the church came in many forms serving multiple callings, reading church books, and studying church history. He is survived by his wife, Ann Aitken LaMothe; daughters, Geneal Little (John), Sandra Langford, and Julee LaMothe; son, East Michael LaMothe (Debbie); sister, Annette Brower (Jerry); brothers, Michael LaMothe, Blair LaMothe, Kevin LaMothe (Julie), Greg LaMothe; 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, & cousins. He was preceded in death by parents, Richard & Wanda LaMothe and Mary & Nathan Aitken; daughter, Barbara Langford Lundgreen; and brother, Richard LaMothe. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 19, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Kearns 4th Ward, 4232 W. 5015 S. Viewings will be held Friday, August 18th, 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S.
