Richard "Dick" Ernest Fritzsche

Richard Ernest Fritzsche passed away May 20, 2016. He was born January 3, 1934 to George Richard And Gertrude M. Brueckner Fritzsche. Richard graduated from South High School and married Geneal Petty, July 2, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. He worked in upholstery before beginning his career at Granger Hunter Improvement District, where he became Assistant Manager for more than 20 years. He was a member of the AWWA (American Water Works Association) and chairman of the Small Water Systems, receiving the highest award nationally (Fueller Award) and the local Charles W. Wilson Memorial Award. Richard served in many positions in the LDS church, both stake and ward levels. He loved working with the youth and coached football, baseball, and basketball. He saw the good in all the boys. He loved watching the Jazz and Cougars and attending their games. Richard is survived by his wife of 63 years; daughter Lisa (Allen); sons: Scott (Andrea), Joseph (Dolores); 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn; and brother Al. He is preceded in death by parents George & Gertrude; sister, Trudy. Funeral services will be held, Thursday, May 26, 2016, 11:00 a.m., at Harvest Park Ward, 3671 South Oldham Street (4180 West). Viewings will be held Wednesday, May 25th, 6-8:00 p.m., at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and on Thursday prior to services at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
