Norman E. Smith

Our dad passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014. He is now free to breathe without being tethered to his oxygen. Dad was born October 9, 1929 in Oakland, California to Geneva Day and Reed Norman Smith. He married is sweetheart, Gloria, on Valentine's Day in 1951; Mom passed away August 13, 2003. Dad proudly served in the National Guard during the Korean War. He then went to school to learn the trade of a tin-smith and worked at Brewster Sheet Metal until his early retirement 27 years ago due to COPD. He was so proud of the work he did on the many buildings, gas stations and special projects in his career. He is survived by his daughters: Pam (Bill) Sperry, Kathy (Chris) Jackson and Becky (Doug) Tuttle; 4 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by his parents. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at the Taylorsville Cemetery, 4575 South Redwood Road. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.
