Norma Jane Hardy Evans

April 10, 1927 — October 20, 2016

Norma Evans was an angel of God sent to Earth. She was a model of charity - the true love of Christ. She was a friend to everyone and loved everyone she met. Mother taught us how to love and to show compassion. Norma was born April 10, 1927, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Earl Charles Hardy and Anna Augusta Kroll. She attended schools in Salt Lake City and graduated from West High. Mother was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a testimony of our Savior. Her theme song was "You Are My Sunshine" and always answered the phone "Hello, Sunshine". She was definitely a shining light to her family and everyone she knew, and her light will always shine within our hearts. Mother married her beloved Robert Leonard Evans on June 17, 1946, and passed away into his loving arms in paradise Oct. 20, 2016. Their love is eternal. Survived by her daughters, Patricia (Steve) Weighall, and Janet (Jim) Witherspoon; sons, Leonard (Holli) Evans, and David (Jamie) Evans; and brother, Dan Hardy. Also, survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Earl "Bud" (Pauline) Hardy, and Auer Hardy; sisters, Helen (Bernice) Dille, and Lois Hardy; and sister-in-law, Marlene Hardy. We would like to express our thanks to the wonderful, caring staff at Carrington Court Memory Care Center and to the IHC Hospice for guiding us through Mom's final days. A viewing will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, in Taylorsville. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Interment - Valley View Memorial Park.
