Nicholas Christopher Laub

November 20, 1939 — September 25, 2017

Our beloved husband and father, Nicholas Christopher Laub, was born on Nov. 20, 1939, and passed away Sept. 25, 2017, after dealing with health issues. He was born to Nicholas J. Laub and Evelyn Winifred Wood in Buffalo, N.Y., the second oldest of nine children, with four brothers and four sisters. Before college he worked as an assistant in a chemistry lab and as an orderly in a mental ward facility. He also was honored to serve in the U.S. Air Force from 1963-1969, and was discharged with an honorable release. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in police science from Weber State in Ogden, Utah. His passions were science, law, photography, travel, astronomy, camping, nature, and he was skilled in defensive fire arms work. After college he proudly joined the Albuquerque, N.M. police department and later relocated to Salt Lake City where he worked for the Boy Scouts and eventually moved into high tech security. He met the love of his life in 1977, and married Rose Ann Rogers in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1978. They have one daughter together, Christina Marie, born in 1984. Nicholas is survived by his wife; daughter; and brothers, Phillip and Gilbert of Tonawanda, N.Y. A viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2, at the McKinley LDS Ward, 1883 S. West Temple in Salt Lake City. A graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Ave. and "N" St. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.
