Nada Lanore Arnell Kilburn

March 20, 1931 — September 25, 2015

Nada Arnell Kilburn was born on March 20, 1931 in St. Charles, Idaho to William Stanley and Lanore Pugmire Arnell. She was greeted by three brothers, Stanley Delmar, Lorraine Pugmire and Elwin Pugmire Arnell. She lived in St. Charles until she was seven years old when her family moved to their home at the Utah Power & Light plant at the mouth of Logan Canyon. She graduated from Logan High School and earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in foods and nutrition from Utah Agricultural College (Utah State University). Nada was the first female in her family line to earn a college degree. She met her husband, Dale Golden Kilburn while working at the college creamery. They were married on June 3rd, 1953 in the Logan Temple. They lived in Logan, Sugar House, UT, and in 1961, Dale and Nada built a home in Granger, UT, later renamed West Valley City. They have four daughters, Dianne, Chris (Dale) Hulet, Cyndy (Steve) Seeley and Lisa (Matt) Arntsen, 21 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter and one great-grandchild on the way. On June 25th, 1965, her husband was killed in a bicycling accident. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she served as a teacher, a leader and friend to many. In the 1970's when Pres. Spencer W Kimball said to plant a garden, Nada tore up part of her backyard and planted and tended a vegetable garden which flourishes today. She enjoyed working in her yard and her grandkids loved visiting grandma. Many times a jar of pickles or raspberry jam went home with an eager child. Her neighbors and friends will miss her tasty whole wheat bread freshly ground and baked with love. Blessed with a beautiful soprano voice, she shared her talent freely. For the past 30 years, Nada devoted her life to family history. Nada enjoyed visiting with friends and family. She loved seeing new places and experiencing new things. On Friday, September 25th, 2015, she cleaned her home, finished the laundry, then passed away in her beloved backyard. After 50 years apart, Nada was reunited with her sweetheart, Dale. Nada will be interred in the Logan City Cemetery. Place of Birth:St. Charles, IdahoPlace of Death:West Valley City, Utah
