Loa Jean Peterson

August 2, 1931 — August 11, 2017

Our sweet mother, Jean Peterson passed away peacefully after an extended illness. She was born to Henneth Eugene Bowman and Eda Fern Grover in Seattle, WA. She was the middle daughter of three girls, she loved her sisters Bonnie and Muriel dearly. Later on in her childhood, she gained a stepfather, Clarence Archibald Hall and 5 more siblings. Jean married her sweetheart, Darwin Grant Peterson on January 23, 1953. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on March 31, 1953. For 50 years she was a devoted wife and companion; their marriage was an example of love, loyalty and devotion for all that knew them. Jean also loved the Savior and the gospel and had no fear in sharing her testimony with all she met. She served in many callings in the LDS church and one of her greatest joys was serving an LDS mission to Dallas Forth Worth Texas with her sweetheart. Jean's bubbly talkative personality and sense of humor made her easy to love. Jean leaves behind 5 children, Marcia Jean Dobrinz (William, deceased), Darwin Grant Peterson Jr. (Celinda), Eric Clayton Peterson (Melinda), Myron Grant Peterson, Tiffany Ann Weinheimer (Craig); 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren who love her dearly. The family would like to thank Jean's friends and neighbors in the 15th ward for the love and care they gave her in the years after Darwin's passing as well as the love and care given her at Sagewood Assisted Living and Comfort Works Hospice. We couldn't have entrusted her into better hands. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 16, 2017, 11:00 a.m., at Hunter 15th Ward, 5000 W. Pavant Ave, West Valley City, where a viewing will be held prior to services from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Utah Veterans Memorial Park. Services under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.
