Leigh Stout Ellett Woodward

August 4, 1954 — October 30, 2016

On October 30, 2016, our beloved Leigh passed away peacefully in her home following a long battle with cancer. Born August 4, 1954, in Salt Lake City to Vaughn and Louise Stout. Leigh married Russell Woodward on August 18, 2006 who remained by her side and took exceptional care of her until the end. Leigh was a talented singer, artist and seamstress. She was an expert fisher-woman and would drag anyone along with her. She had a great sense of humor and was always laughing and having fun. She loved animals of all breeds and always had many pets and took in strays; anything she thought needed loved or fed. She was very active in all of her children's and grandchildren's lives, she would always be giving compliments, praise and support. She was your biggest cheerleader, protector and confidant. She would write novels on your birthday cards, send you a 1,000-word text with every emoji to punctuate her words. You just knew she loved you and she was with you every step of the way. She worked as a medical secretary for 30 years at LDS Hospital; she loved working in that hospital and had many friends there. She is survived by her husband Russ; her children: Angela (Mark) Mamalis, Blake Rother, Bryce (Natalie) Rother, Amanda (David) Thacker; her step-children: Leo, Scott (Cindy), Bobbiejo (Toby) Borden, Shannon (Steve) Spencer; and numerous grandchildren whom she loved & adored; siblings: Terrell (Russell) Kukla, Trisha (Regan) Willmore, Adrianne (David) Brackner, Holly Stout, Bill (DeAnn) Stout, John (Linda) Stout, Jim (Shauna) Stout, Robert Stout, Richard Stout; and many nieces and nephews who loved her; and finally her beloved dog, Jake.
