Mother was born June 16, 1918 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the sixth of ten children, to Walter Thomas Knapton and Sarah Estelle Redmond. She married her eternal sweetheart Henry Clell Bawden on August 17, 1940 in Reno, Nevada. This union was later solemnized in the LDS Saint George Temple. Even until her death this eternal love never diminished. Mom passed away in her home, as she wished, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her children, Lyle (Darlene); Dean (Marilyn); Gayle Park (Max); Steven; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and a brother Don Knapton (Carrie). She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years; her son Tracy Bawden; her granddaughter Brittany Kay Bawden; her great-grandson Colton Lynn; and her daughter- in-law, Karole Bawden. Mother was an active member of the LDS Church. Her family was the driving force of her life. Education was of primary importance to Mother, as she was the first in her family to graduate from high school. She graduated from Granite High School in 1936. Her first job was at Mountain Bell as a switch board operator. She also worked for ZCMI for over 20 years. Mother was an accomplished seamstress, and loved to needle point, and crochet. She was competitive, especially in table games. Most of all Mother never missed a World Series. We will miss you Mother and will always love you. Services for Mom will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017, 12:30 p.m. at the Mount Jordan 3rd Ward Chapel, 8950 S. 400 E., Sandy, UT, where a viewing will be held prior to services from 10-12:15 p.m. Interment will be at Elysian Gardens, 1075 E. 4580 S., SLC, Utah 84117.
