Kathleen Anderson

Kathleen Anderson, 62, passed away June 8, 2017 at her home in West Valley City, Utah. Kathy was born October 22, 1954 to Darrell A and Verda Marie Wimmer Anderson in Salt Lake City, Utah. She grew up in Holladay, Utah graduating from Olympus High School. She graduated from Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho and then attended the Morris School of Travel in Salt Lake City. She later graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Education facilitating her opportunity to teach elementary age children which she loved. Kathy's love of travel took her around the world working as a travel agent. She loved the outdoors and could identify many birds, flowers, and animals. She loved digging in the dirt, gardening, and planting many flowers. Kathy loved her family and did all she could to keep traditions alive and attended all family events. Kathy was an active member in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings including Primary, Relief Society, and many years as a temple worker in the Salt Lake City and Jordan River Temples. Kathy is preceded in death by her mother Verda Anderson and grandparents. Kathy is survived by her father Darrell A Anderson of West Jordan, UT, and siblings, Peggy (Hugh) Holt of Sandy, UT, Heidi (Jay) Stuart, Highland, UT,Craig (Sherri) Anderson, West Jordan, UT,Karen Anderson, Sandy, UT, and Lora (Scott) Argyle, Taylorsville, UT. Kathy was loved and adored by her many nieces and nephews; she taught them, she supported them, and celebrated with them continuing through generations. Kathy has been called on the mission she always wanted to serve. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at the Granger West 9th Ward, 4460 West Cortney Drive, West Valley City, Utah. A gathering for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Holladay Memorial Cemetery, Holladay, UT.
