June Rice Anderson passed away March 5, 2018 with family at her side at Summit Senior Living & Memory Care in West Valley City, Utah. June was born June 9, 1927 in Draper, Utah to Ursel South Rice and Mabel Isabel Harston Rice. June was the 5th in a family of 6 children: Ruby Tolman, Leola Crenshaw, Leonard Rice, Adeline Jensen, Ramona Forman. Around the age of 2 her family moved to California. June attended Bell High School and later took college courses at the City college. June married Eugene Wilson Anderson, a widower with one child, Sandra Lynn Anderson Twelves who was 6 years old at the time of their marriage on January 31, 1950 in the Mesa, Arizona LDS Temple. They had six children together and spent most of her life with Eugene in Corona, CA. She spent the last 26 years in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many ward and stake capacities. She was an artist and a musician and loved performing in the musical theatre with her husband Gene. She produced some artistic renderings that were published by the LDS Church. She was especially skillful when doing portraits and designed pictures highlighting different periods in the subjects life from toddlers to teens to adulthood for couples. In addition, she took voice lessons and performed as often as she could, including the local community plays and musicals. She and her husband participated in these events together frequently. June also loved to play softball with the children and indoor games of all sort. She often took all of her children to the beach where she would watch us play and enjoy the sun. She is the last member of her family to pass. Survived by her children: Sandy, Becky (Scott), Jeff (Lynn), Peggy (Steve), Sheila (Larry), Sherryl (Tim) and Chris (Marianne); 43 grandchildren; 77 great-grandchildren and one more on the way. Preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Wilson Anderson in 2009; all her siblings; and grandchildren, Joseph, Jeremiah, Philip, and Joy. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 12, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at the Oquirrh Point 1st Ward, 6253 West 6200 South. Viewings will be held Sunday, March 11th, 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Monday at the church prior to services from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
