Joyce Andersen Ottley

December 4, 1933 — September 25, 2017

Mom left behind 5 children: Gordon, Gale (Marina), Kerri (Bruce), Kolette (Kenny), Kelli (Larry); 17 grandkids; 26 great-grandkids. Mom was a nurse by trade, but her real love was her family and music. Mom and Dad taught us at an early age to sing and dance. We grew up on stage and traveled in our little Volkswagen Bug, with 7 people, a snare drum, guitar and speaker. Joyce was a lifetime member of the LDS church and was the ward organist and pianist longer than anyone can remember. She also played piano for the First Baptist Church of West Valley where she made many new friends. She played for more weddings, funerals, and special occasions than Liberace. She formed a group Kidz N' Kuzins. Grammy had an endless amount of patience and a love for all living things; she'd never even harm a spider. She would scoop them up and toss them outside. She had a constant thirst for knowledge and was always enrolling in new classes. Whether it was music, self-healing, or Spanish she wanted to learn it all. She was so excited to become a senior citizen so she could take free classes at the community college. Joyce always welcomed everyone with a smile and open arms. She surrounded her home with music, love and the smell of freshly buttered toast. She arguably made the best piece of toast EVER. Early mornings with Grammy were full of long walks, feeding the ducks at the canal andeating watermelon on her front lawn. We will miss you more than words can say. We hope your next adventure includes limitless, guilt free ice cream. Give Grampy hugs from all of us. We want to thank Kelli and Larry Fox for their full-time care of Mom for the last 2 years. We also want to thank Tender Care Hospice for caring for our mother in her last days. Place of Birth:Salt Lake City, UtahPlace of Death:Farmington, Utah
