Jeffrey Alan Kelsey

June 8, 1971 — May 22, 2015

Jeffrey Alan Kelsey 1971-2015 Jeffrey Alan Kelsey was born June 8, 1971 in Mountain View, California to James Frank and Dianne Daly Kelsey. He died May 22, 2015 in Clearfield, Utah. He attended schools in Taylorsville, Utah and graduated from Cottonwood High School in 1989. From a young age he was willing to work hard. At the age of 20 he was treated for a pilocytic astrocytoma brain tumor. After a year of operations, treatment and rehabilitation he beat the odds and returned to work. He fulfilled his dreams of buying a truck and attending a Dallas Cowboys football game. He attended P.O.S.T training at Salt Lake Community College, but was unable to certify because of the residual effects of the brain tumor. He moved to Ogden and worked at the Moore's Family Restaurant on Wall Avenue and then at the Moore's Family Restaurant on 1900 West. In 2004 he married Kelly Montgomery in the Bountiful Utah Temple. The tumor began growing again, but Moore's Restaurant always found work for him to do as his physical abilities declined. His main desire each week was to go to work. By December of 2014 it was obvious that something had to be done to treat the tumor and on January 16, 2015 Jeff told the doctors at Huntsman Cancer Hospital, "Let's do this," and he was operated on and declared tumor free. However, he never completely woke up from the operation and passed away at Rocky Mountain Care in Clearfield, Utah on May 22, 2015. Jeff is survived by his wife, his parents, his sister, Jill Martinez and his brothers, Brian (Leisha), Todd (Melissa), and James (Tami) Kelsey and his nine nieces and nephews whom he teasingly called "little monkeys" and he was "Muncle" Jeff to them. A celebration of Jeff's life will be held upstairs at Moore's Restaurant, 2490 South 1900 West, Ogden, Utah on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A gathering for friends and family will be held at McDougal Funeral home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. There will be a graveside service at the Panguitch City Cemetery, Panguitch, Utah on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers go visit an old friend or neighbor, or give a "thumbs up" to a loved one.
