Our loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend to all, passed away at the age of 54 on Friday, July 24, 2015 due to complications of hyperglycemia. Jay was born inSubic Bay, Philippines on April 3. 1961 to Joel & Darlene Johnson. He graduated fromGranger High School in 1979. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ ofLatter-day Saints. He served full time in the Japan Tokyo South Mission, baptizing over130 people. Over the years he enjoyed serving in scouting and a variety of other churchcallings. He especially loved working with the youth playing games and telling stories.He began his entrepreneurship as a young boy in Germany doing puppet shows for all theneighbor kids. Since then Jay Johnson aka "Boss" has worked for various companies inmanagerial positions. He was also self employed for over 30 years.Jay lived to travel, play games, and spend time with his family. No matter how much hehad, he was always willing to share with others. He had a great sense of humor andbrought joy to everyone around him. He is survived by his children; Jay C., Justin, Leah (Loando), Jordan, (their mother,Lorie) Jayden (his mother Erin); Grandson Micah; Father Joel Curtis Johnson; Siblings;Joel II, James, Jess, Jason, Joelene (Marosok), Jared, Janalee, JaNell (Ward).Jay was preceded in death by his mother Darlene Leah Johnson.Jay will be missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. A viewing will be held Monday July 27, 2015 from 6-8 PM at McDougal Funeral Home4330 South Redwood Road.Funeral services will be held Tuesday July 28, 2015, 11:00 AM with a viewing prior at 10-10:45 AM.at the LDS church 7115S. 3200 W. West Jordan. Interment, WasatchLawn Memorial Park.
