Janet Walker

February 29, 1944 — September 28, 2015

Sandy, UT Janet Sparrow Walker passed away Monday, September 28, surrounded by family. She was able to say goodbye and also wish everyone the happy birthdays that she was going to miss. Born February 29th, 1944 in Ogden, Utah to James Duane and Dorothy Anderson Sparrow. Married to Ronald Stuart Draney. They had a son, Brent Ronald Draney, and later divorced. Married to Brent Clark Walker and later divorced. Janet attended Business College and worked as an accountant for Sears Roebuck and Stokes Brothers. Early in life Janet was fond of golfing and teaching her son how to play. She was also an avid University of Utah football fan and Crimson Club member since 1983. Janet and her son Brent had a wonderful evening watching the Utah Oregon football game. Special thanks to former neighbor Kyle Whittingham for an outstanding gift. Janet loved to watch her son sail, cheer him on and keep track of his results. She tracked his progress as he raced to Hawaii and then met him at the finish line to celebrate. Janet is survived by her son Brent Draney and grandson Jeffrey Draney of Piedmont, California. She is also survived by her sister Valene (Gary) Fackrell, her three brothers Bruce (Linda) Sparrow, Claire (Linda) Sparrow, Boyd (Kris) Sparrow, and an enormous extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews. We express our thanks to Intermountain Medical Center and The Cascades Rehabilitation Center for helping Janet be able to say goodbye and to take her next steps peacefully.
