James Duane McCleve

October 11, 1930 — April 3, 2017

James Duane McCleve returned to his Heavenly Father on April 3, 2017. He was born October 11, 1930 to Parley P. and Eliza P. McCleve. He married his sweetheart, Carol Verree Wightman, for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on February 26, 1951. Duane rose from humble beginnings by working hard and building a successful tile company. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He taught his posterity with life-long lessons of sacrifice, service and love. He was a dedicated servant in his LDS faith, serving in callings as a youth leader, bishop, stake president and many others. He had a charisma and warmth that brought joy and laughter to his family. He was a natural leader with a witty sense of humor and beautiful tenor voice. He could often be heard sharing his gifts at many church meetings, weddings, holidays and parties. His loving embrace, caring heart and thoughtfulness will be missed beyond measure. We love you! Survived by his wife, Carol Verree Wightman McCleve; and six children Randy (Karen), David (Cindy), Linda (Kim), Doug (Shaunna), Lisa, Kelly (Annette); 25 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Preceded in death by his parents and siblings. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2017, 12:00 p.m. at the LDS Chapel, 3274 Hillsdale Dr. (2860 W), West Valley City, UT. Viewings will be held Monday, April 10, 2017 from 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Rd. Taylorsville, UT and again prior to services at the chapel from 10:45 -11:45 a.m. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 E Dimple Dale Rd. Draper, UT.
