Brown returned to his Heavenly Father on July 16, 2017, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Jack was born in Portland, Oregon in January, 1930 to James Alexander Brown and Lillian Fontella Warren, who moved the family to Salt Lake City, where he grew up. He loved fishing with his dad and spending time at family campouts. He loved flying and later got his pilot's license. He was a self-employed flooring contractoras J&D Floor Coveringsfor 30+ years. He loved going on weekly dinner dates with long-time friends, and regular lunch dates with his brothers-in- law. He had a great sense of humor and always had a wonderful positive attitude, and rarely complained about life. He was an active member of the LDS Church, served in many positions, and was strong in his faith. In 1950 he married Barbara Odd and they had four children. Sadly, she passed away early in life. In 1962 he married Sherie Freer Rhodes, who brought her two children into their marriage. They later had two more children, raising eight children together. For 54 years they had a happy marriage filled with love, faith, and wonderful memories that will keep the family strong while missing his presence. Jack is survived by his wife Sherie; children James (Tina), Jackie, Kent (Lisa), Joni, Steven (Jessica); sister Barbara; 24 grandchildren; and over 30 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his children Warren, Jeanmarie (Mark), and Jayna (Steve). A viewing will be held Friday, July 21 from 6-8 pm at McDougal Funeral Home located at 4330 S. Redwood Rd. in Taylorsville, Utah. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 22 at 11 am at the Meadow Heights Ward located at 4310 S. 3200 W. in West Valley City, Utah; a viewing will be held prior from 9:30-10:30 am.
